Not worth the hype: Reasons to skip the iPhone 14 Pro/Promax
Are you planning to buy the latest release of Apple, the iPhone 14 Pro/Promax? It might not really be everything you have ever dreamt it would be, and skipping it might be the right choice. While everyone is super hyped up about it, it is actually quite underwhelming, and you might just be disappointed upon buying. If you are already an owner of an iPhone 13 or an iPhone 12, then this new release might not be worth spending your hard-earned money on. Below are some of the reasons why you should definitely skip this new release.
Battery life is worse
Had you been using your iPhone 13 considerably, you would know that the battery is pretty great. It can last for 15 hours of video streaming which is more than anyone can say about it. In line with this, you are definitely getting the worth of your money with this unit. On the other hand, the iPhone 14 seems to have lowered battery life versus its predecessor. This means that you are not going to be getting more battery but seemingly less of it. This is a good reason to just stick to what you have instead of going for the new one.
USB-C port
While everyone was hoping that iPhone would finally consider switching their units to a USB-C port and iPhone 14 Pro might be the first one, it did not deliver. You are still going to be stuck with the same Lightning port that iPhone has had since 2012. This means that you are not getting anything new with this new iPhone and that you are going to be disappointed if you happen to be one of the people who have been waiting for Apple to step their game up.
Camera quality
When it comes to camera quality, iPhone 13 already has a pretty good camera, and while the iPhone 14 Pro is certainly a good upgrade, it will still not be enough to buy it just for that. If you are someone who does not shoot things on dim settings, then it is not worth buying for just the camera specs. Instead, what you can do is stick with your current unit and enjoy its photo quality as it is. This basically means that while the new iPhone’s camera is a little better, it is not enough for you to pay the price for it.
Display quality
The new iPhone is considered the budget iPhone by Apple, but it is still certainly a lot of money for a lot of people, so the idea is that you should be getting the worth of what you paid for. However, the display is not of good quality compared to the previous iPhone units, so that is something you might want to consider when it comes to figuring out if you should buy the new one. You should just stick with the previous one as it is if that is the case.
Same processor
Undoubtedly, upgrading to a new unit is certainly grade if the processor gets an upgrade. However, the iPhone 14 Pro gets the same processor as the iPhone 13 series. This means that there is no point in buying it if you already have the iPhone 13 since it works just as fast as that. Just use the money to get something else instead of making an upgrade.
The decision to buy the new iPhone is still up to you. However, you should consider the things mentioned above so that you can truly say that you weighed things properly. The hype is not always worth it, and in this case, the iPhone 14 Pro is certainly not that great.
